A word used to say the exact hour.

Thirty minutes after the hour.

"It is half past three — 3:30."

quarter to

Fifteen minutes before the hour.

"It is quarter to eight — 7:45."

today

adverb

This current day.

"Today is Monday."

tomorrow

adverb

The day after today.

"I have a meeting tomorrow."

What time is it? / It is + time

To ask the time, say 'What time is it?' To answer, say 'It is' followed by the time.

What time is it? — It is three o'clock.

What time is it? — It is half past seven.

What time does the film start? — It starts at quarter to nine.

What time do you wake up? — I wake up at seven o'clock.

A Busy Day

Today is Tuesday. Emma has a busy day. She wakes up at seven o'clock in the morning. She has breakfast at half past seven. She goes to work at eight o'clock. She has lunch at one o'clock in the afternoon. After lunch, she has a meeting at half past two. In the evening, at seven o'clock, she cooks dinner. She goes to bed at ten o'clock. Tomorrow she does it again.
